As healthcare professionals, we as dentists are committed to the improvement of sleep using what is best for our patient, it may be weight loss, it may be CPAP or ways of helping to wear it.
In order to get a better sleep – it might be a better sleeping environment or better pre-sleep activities. It might be dental appliances, CPAP or simply advice or recommendations.
In our office we work either by self- or doctor referral. If you would like to be referred by your doctor please have him complete a referral form and FAX it to our office as they would any other specialist referral.
Our Kelowna practice is also aware of the importance of poor sleep on dentistry itself. It may be a cause of malocclusion and correcting breathing problems may save expensive orthodontics for children and adults too! It may be a co-factor in grinding (bruxism) and the damage and premature appearance of worn teeth and old age that is become endemic (again potentially saving expensive onlays and veneers). The list goes on.
